The Babolat Drive Z-Lite with Cortex is now offered in a new cosmetic for 2007. The specification is exactly the same as the previous-generation Drive Z-Lite Cortex, utilizing the Cortex vibration filter at the top of the handle. Cortex is used in several of Babolat’s players racquets to enhance feel by cancelling only the 2 highest vibration frequencies. Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter. Other than the addition of the Cortex filter (and a snazzy new paint scheme) Babolat has kept the specifications on this new version of the Drive Z-Lite w/ Cortex the same as the outgoing Drive Z-Lite. The Babolat Drive Z-Lite still has the feel of a “players” racquet with a solid, stable, comfortable feel, but with a broader appeal due to its lighter weight. Geared to the intermediate to advanced player possessing a longer, faster swing, who will appreciate the slightly lighter and more maneuverable feel versus the regular Pure Drive.Racquet SpecificationsHeadsize: 100 sq. in.Length: 27.00 in.Weight (strung): 9.85 oz.Stiffness (Babolat RDC): 67Balance: 14.13 in. Andy Roddick’s signature racquet, the Pure Drive Roddick GT Plus combines a player’s racquet weight and balance with the beam width and stiffness of the Pure Drive Plus. The result is excellent stability and power with ample control and excellent access to spin. The added length adds some serious swing speed to the tip of the racquet which results in huge amount of spin and power on aggressive swings. Updated with GT technology, this racquet offers a more solid feel thanks to the use of graphite/tungsten in its construction. From the baseline this racquet offers excellent plow through. Stability at contact is very impressive making it a solid choice for the advanced level player who is frequently up against big hitting opponents. Likewise, this stick definitely enables the user to hit a heavy ball. Long fast swings result in shots with excellent court penetration. Short balls can be dispatched with lots of pace and spin with this racquet.
